Oh high there! I'm Lesley and I have been running food businesses for almost a decade. I started Dumpling Darling as a farmers market stand in 2014 and eventually expanded to locations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Des Moines and learned the harsh lesson that this concept was not sustainable as a brick and mortar. I also co-founded Nosh Cafe & Eatery in Des Moines in 2019 and sold it in 2023.  A combination burnout from restaurant ownership life, some extra time at home (Thanks Covid) and a case of the munchies led to the inception of Oh High Cookies. One night during quarantine, I thought to myself, what if a chocolate chip cookie wasn’t just a chocolate chip cookie? I mean chocolate chip cookies are awesome and all but what if there was something INSIDE the cookie like maybe a brownie, or peanut butter, or cream cheese?  I got to baking and I've been creating crazy cookie concoctions ever since. We believe that everything tastes better baked and that all cookies should be stuffed with something special because after all, it’s what’s on the inside that counts right?
